BIOGRAPHY
The first book Jennifer ever checked out of the library was the biography of Brian Epstein. She read it while listening to Alice Cooper, and from that day on, she memorized record labels and obsessively compiled charts and notes about the music business. From the age of 15, she played in a few bands, worked in punk rock clubs, promoted countless shows, booked several tours, managed various bands. She moved to L.A., and in 1994, she hosted and co-produced the syndicated show Brave New Radio (heard on over 300 stations) and then went on to start Simon Pure Music, a radio production company that spawned Radio Asylm and several documentaries. During that time she also managed RCA recording artist, Eve 6. After a stint in classic rock management, where she worked with Jefferson Starship, The Marshall Tucker Band and Ten Years After, she happily went to work for Grammy award winning producer/guitarist, Pete Anderson at his label, Little Dog Records. She moved to Tucson, tried talent buying and publicity and landed at Funzalo Records. Known for ‘great ears’, she’s been lucky enough to work with great artists such as Dwight Yoakam, Everclear, Willy DeVille, Wayne Kramer and Collective Soul to name a few. When not in some bar seeing some band, she can be found slaving over a hot desk, reading or writing, watching scary movies or searching for new bowling bag purses…..
